In a land kissed by snow and tears,
Where silence carries both hope and fears,
There rose a man not forged in war,
But in compassion — deeper than any scar.
Syed Adil Hussain Shah, a name
Now whispered with reverence, wrapped in flame.
Not the flame of fury, nor vengeance fed,
But of a fire lit where humanity bled.
Pahalgam, the vale of serene delight,
Was drowned that day in darkest night.
The air was torn by ruthless sound,
As hate sought to break sacred ground.
Tourists had come, most not of his faith,
To wander the valley, to feel its grace.
But fate had plotted another page,
And loosed upon them, terror and rage.
Twenty-six lives were cruelly lost,
More than twenty bore the militant’s cost.
And amidst the panic, the cries and moan,
One stood tall — and stood alone.
He did not run, nor curse the sky,
He didn’t wait for help to arrive.
He leapt to shield, to intercept,
He bore the storm while others wept.
With bare hands, he gripped the steel,
The terrorist’s gun, his force, his zeal.
To stop the madness, he took a stand,
A silent prayer in each trembling hand.
But justice walks a jagged road,
And courage often bears the heaviest load.
Another attacker, hidden, near —
Struck him down with deadly leer.
A bullet found his noble head,
And down he fell — but not as dead.
No, martyrs live beyond the grave,
In every life they choose to save.
He died a Shaheed, a guardian true,
Not for creed, but for what’s right to do.
He shielded those who prayed unlike he,
That is the face of real bravery.
Not hatred, nor division’s chain,
Not sect or caste or godless gain.
But one heart, open wide and vast —
A bridge between futures and shattered past.
He proved Kashmiriyat is not a word,
It is a torch the soul has heard.
A way of life where love defends,
And strangers may become dear friends.
He is the pulse in our valley’s song,
The reason peace must now grow strong.
Let no news channel twist the frame,
Let no propaganda stain his name.
Syed Adil Hussain Shah — we write in gold,
A tale of the brave, the pure, the bold.
Let schools recite him, let banners fly,
Let every child know the reason why —
That in the heart of fire, a flower grew.
That when hate struck, a man stood true.
And with his fall, he planted seeds
Of unity, honor, and righteous deeds.
May his soul be wrapped in divine light,
May his memory sharpen our sight.
He didn’t just save lives — he showed the way
To build a kinder world someday.
In eternal honor of Shaheed Syed Adil Hussain Shah.
A martyr not just of Kashmir, but of humanity itself.
