A morning fire tore through a vehicle workshop along the Bukit Jalil Highway in Bandar Puchong Jaya, Selangor, on Saturday, leaving behind a trail of destruction. The fire, which broke out at around 10:56 AM, destroyed 20 cars and three motorcycles. Fortunately, no one was injured in the blaze.
The Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) responded swiftly, sending 21 firefighters from Puchong, Subang Jaya, Seri Kembangan, and Damansara fire stations to the scene. The team arrived within minutes, at 11:04 AM, and began fighting the flames.
Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar, Assistant Director of Operations at JBPM, shared that the fire had ravaged about 70 percent of the workshop structure. “Our crews acted quickly, but the damage was significant,” he said.
While the cause of the fire is still under investigation, the community is left in shock, reflecting on the immense loss. The workshop, which had been a bustling place for vehicle repairs, now stands in ruins, but thankfully, no lives were lost.
As investigators continue their work, locals are offering support and solidarity in the wake of the devastating event.
