Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Chinese President Xi Jinping in conjunction with the 105th anniversary of China’s ruling party, reaffirming Malaysia’s commitment to nurturing a strong and enduring partnership with China.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Anwar revealed that he had sent an official letter to President Xi on behalf of the Malaysian government and its people, conveying warm wishes for this significant national milestone.
The Prime Minister praised the remarkable journey of China’s ruling party, highlighting its role in transforming the nation through the strength of its rich civilization, deep-rooted history, and enduring cultural values that have been preserved across generations.
Reflecting on the long-standing diplomatic relationship between the two countries, Anwar recalled the historic decision made on May 31, 1974, when Malaysia became the first non-socialist country in Southeast Asia to officially recognize the People’s Republic of China.
According to Anwar, that landmark decision was made with exceptional wisdom and foresight, laying the foundation for a trusted partnership that has continued to grow stronger for more than five decades.
He also reaffirmed Malaysia’s dedication to expanding strategic cooperation with China through mutual respect, trust, and shared prosperity. The Prime Minister emphasized that both nations remain committed to working together in promoting regional peace, economic stability, sustainable development, and long-term prosperity across Asia.
