Anwar Ibrahim Shares Heartfelt Congratulations to SPM 2024 Achievers

KUALA LUMPUR – In a warm and personal message, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reached out to the youth of Malaysia, extending his heartfelt congratulations to all students who achieved outstanding results in the 2024 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination, released on Thursday (April 24).

Taking to Facebook, Anwar shared words of encouragement, not only for the top scorers but for every student who sat for the exams. He expressed pride in those who had excelled and urged them to carry that same drive and discipline into their future academic and life journeys.

“To the high achievers, congratulations. Your hard work has paid off. May your pursuit of knowledge continue to be filled with passion and purpose,” he said.

But it was his message to students who may not have seen the results they hoped for that truly resonated. With a fatherly tone, Anwar reminded them that academic results are not the sole measure of one’s worth or potential.

“Don’t give up. This is just one chapter of your story. There are many paths to success—explore them. You are not alone,” he said, emphasizing the government’s ongoing commitment to support youth through various educational pathways.

Anwar also reaffirmed the government’s focus on building a strong future for all Malaysian youth, highlighting continued investment in quality higher education and alternative routes such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

This year’s SPM results brought a reason to celebrate. With the best performance since 2013, the National Average Grade improved to 4.49 from 4.60 in 2023. Notably, 14,179 students (3.7%) achieved straight A’s (A+, A, A-), a significant increase from 11,713 the year before.

Anwar’s message served as a reminder that every effort counts, every dream matters, and every young Malaysian has the power to shape a brighter future.
