Thailand to Launch Digital Arrival Card for All Foreign Travelers Starting May 1

BANGKOK, April 10 — Thailand will introduce a new digital entry system for foreign visitors beginning May 1, replacing the traditional paper-based TM6 disembarkation card with a streamlined electronic alternative — the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).

According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Nikorndej Balankura, all international travelers entering Thailand by air, land, or sea will be required to complete the TDAC online at tdac.immigration.go.th at least three days before their arrival.

“The TDAC has been developed using advanced, smart travel technologies to ensure faster, more secure processing at immigration checkpoints,” said Nikorndej, who also serves as the Director-General of the Department of Information. “This new system not only enhances the convenience of entry for visitors but also allows for better public health monitoring and personalized assistance when needed.”

The digital form will require travelers to submit essential details such as passport or travel document information, personal data, travel itinerary, accommodation in Thailand, and relevant health information. Once completed, users will receive a downloadable confirmation or email receipt, which must be presented to immigration officers upon arrival.

In addition to individual applications, the TDAC portal supports group submissions and allows users to edit their information if necessary.

This move officially ends the long-standing requirement for visitors to fill out the TM6 card. Notably, the TM6 requirement had already been suspended for air travelers since July 2022 and temporarily lifted for those entering through 16 land and sea checkpoints — a policy set to expire on April 30, 2025.

Certain categories of travelers are exempt from the TDAC requirement, including those covered under Section 15 of the Immigration Act — such as diplomatic and consular staff, officials from international organizations, their spouses, dependants, and domestic employees, as well as foreign dignitaries on official missions.

As a transitional measure, the TDAC portal will become accessible to travelers starting April 28, just ahead of the system’s full implementation on May 1.
