Strict 3PM Rule for Putrajaya Ramadan Bazaar Traders, Warns PPj

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 16 — Traders at Putrajaya’s Ramadan bazaars must strictly adhere to the 3PM start time for food preparation and sales or risk enforcement action, the Putrajaya Corporation (PPj) has warned.

PPj President Datuk Fadlun Mak Ujud emphasized that the rule is essential to maintain food quality and prevent health risks, such as spoilage and food poisoning. “Our enforcement teams will conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance and uphold food safety standards,” he said, as reported by Berita Harian (BH).

Beyond food safety, traders are also urged to maintain cleanliness, adhere to fair pricing, and support the no-plastic bag campaign.

Bazaar Setup and Monitoring Efforts

This year, PPj has allocated 800 trading lots across four Ramadan bazaar sites, including:

  • 260 lots for food vendors
  • 300 lots at Anjung Syawal for Aidilfitri essentials
  • A new Ramadan bazaar at Taman Warisan, Precinct 16

Fadlun confirmed that traders were selected through a direct licensing process and reminded them that PPj will be working closely with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, the Ministry of Health, and the Department of Social Welfare to ensure smooth operations.

Additionally, he issued a strict warning against begging activities at Ramadan bazaars, stating that action will be taken against individuals found soliciting at these locations.

With enhanced monitoring and strict regulations, Putrajaya aims to provide a safe, clean, and well-regulated Ramadan bazaar experience for both traders and visitors.
