Prince William to Meet Saudi Crown Prince During Official Visit Aiming to Strengthen UK–Saudi Relations

Britain’s Prince William is set to meet Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during a three day official visit to Saudi Arabia beginning Monday. The trip is being carried out on behalf of the British government and is focused on strengthening diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties between the two nations.

The visit comes after a 2025 trip by Britain’s finance minister, which the UK government said helped unlock trade and investment agreements worth 6.4 billion pounds. These developments highlighted the growing economic partnership between London and Riyadh and set the stage for further collaboration.

According to Kensington Palace, Prince William will hold a formal audience with the crown prince and take part in a series of engagements centered on Saudi Arabia’s economic reforms, cultural initiatives, and environmental programs. The meetings will reflect shared interests in sustainability, innovation, and long term development.

This will not be the first time Prince William has met the Saudi crown prince. In March 2018, William and his father, then Prince Charles, hosted Mohammed bin Salman at Clarence House in London. On the same day, the late Queen Elizabeth also held a separate lunch with the Saudi leader.

During the visit, Prince William, the eldest son of King Charles, is also expected to engage with young Saudis and learn more about the country’s plans for sustainability and urban development. His itinerary includes visits to projects linked to women’s sport, e-sports, conservation, and cultural cooperation.

The prince will also travel to AlUla, the ancient oasis city in northwest Saudi Arabia. There, he will visit wildlife reserves, meet local communities, and tour Prince of Wales House, a new UK cultural space designed to promote collaboration in arts, heritage, and creative industries.

At its heart, this visit is not just about diplomacy or agreements on paper. It is about people, shared futures, and building understanding across cultures. By engaging directly with communities, innovators, and young leaders, Prince William’s visit reflects a growing effort to turn global partnerships into human connections that can shape a more sustainable and cooperative future.
