Massive Fire Erupts Near Subang, Malaysia, Visible for Kilometers

PETALING JAYA – A massive blaze erupted in Putra Heights, Malaysia, on April 1, with flames towering high and visible from Subang Jaya and beyond.

According to the Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue Station, a distress call was received at 8:10 AM, prompting an immediate response.

“The fire is located along Jalan Putra Harmoni. Firefighting teams from Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, and Puchong have been deployed and are actively working at the scene,” said a department spokesperson.

Cause and Response

Authorities have confirmed that the fire was triggered by a burst gas pipe, sparking intense flames that quickly spread.

Social media has been flooded with images and videos of the inferno, with many users initially speculating that the fire was near Subang and Puchong. Community news platform SJ Echo shared footage of the incident early in the morning, fueling widespread concern.

Official Warnings & Evacuations

Subang Jaya MP Wong Chen later confirmed that the fire broke out at a petrol station in Putra Heights, urging residents to stay vigilant.

“All citizens are advised to be on full alert. We will provide updates from Bomba (Fire and Rescue Department) as soon as they are available. A Bomba helicopter is also en route to assist in containment efforts,” Wong Chen stated.

With the blaze visible from kilometers away, emergency teams are racing against time to bring the situation under control. Further updates from authorities are expected as firefighting operations continue.
