TEHRAN, July 29 — Tensions in the Middle East have taken a sharp turn again, with Iran issuing a strong warning to both the United States and Israel. In an emotionally charged message shared on social media, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made it clear that if his country faces further military aggression, the response will be swift — and impossible to ignore.
“If aggression is repeated, we will not hesitate to react in a more decisive manner and in a way that will be impossible to cover up,” Araghchi stated in a firm post on X (formerly Twitter). His comments seem to directly respond to earlier remarks from former US President Donald Trump, who boldly claimed that American strikes had “wiped out” Iran’s nuclear capabilities and warned of future destruction if Iran attempted to restart its program.
Iran’s nuclear ambitions have long been a flashpoint in international politics. While Tehran insists that its uranium enrichment is for peaceful purposes, the global community — especially Washington and Tel Aviv — remains skeptical. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that Iran is enriching uranium up to 60%, dangerously close to the 90% threshold needed for weapons-grade material.
Last month’s military exchanges escalated rapidly. Following a surprise airstrike by Israel on Iran’s nuclear facilities, the United States launched its own series of strikes. Though the extent of the damage remains unclear, these actions effectively derailed nuclear talks between the US and Iran that had only recently resumed.
Iran did not stay silent. Over a 12-day period, it retaliated with missile strikes targeting Israeli cities and a US military base in Qatar. Despite these aggressive exchanges, Trump downplayed the consequences, claiming victory over Iran’s capabilities during a recent trip to Scotland.
But Araghchi’s message paints a different picture — one of resilience and defiance. “No one in their right mind would abandon the fruits of tremendous investment in homegrown and peaceful technology just because of foreign bullying,” he wrote. He also reiterated that while Iran is open to dialogue regarding enrichment levels, the right to enrich uranium remains non-negotiable.
In the shadow of military threats and political standoffs, one thing is certain: The Iranian leadership is drawing a red line of its own — a line that signals determination, not surrender.
