Indo-Australian Delegation Pays Tribute at Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar

Srinagar, Sept 23: In a significant moment of spiritual diplomacy, an Indo-Australian delegation comprising diplomats and senior Australian officials visited the revered Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar on Tuesday. The visit was more than ceremonial—it was a heartfelt gesture of cultural respect and spiritual curiosity.

Warmly received by Dr. Darakhsha Andrabi, Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board, along with local administrators and the shrine’s management committee, the delegation took time to understand the deep spiritual and cultural significance of Hazratbal—a site that holds the sacred relic of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and remains one of the holiest places for Muslims in the Kashmir Valley.

In a peaceful ambiance marked by reverence and quiet reflection, the diplomats were briefed on the rich history and sanctity of the shrine. Officials noted that the visiting delegates were genuinely moved by the experience, and they expressed admiration for the serene atmosphere and the spiritual power of the place.

“The shrine of Hazratbal is not just a religious site,” Dr. Andrabi shared in her welcome address. “It represents peace, harmony, and the spiritual soul of Kashmir. The presence of international guests here is a testament to the universal values this sacred space upholds.”

The visit was seen as part of broader people-to-people engagement between India and Australia, showcasing a desire to deepen understanding not just through trade or politics, but also through shared experiences and cultural respect.
