‘Fly it proudly’: Fahmi Urges Malaysians to Raise Jalur Gemilang in Celebration of Unity and Patriotism

MUAR, July 27 — Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has urged Malaysians to embrace the ‘1 House 1 Jalur Gemilang’ campaign in conjunction with the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations. Speaking at the launch of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 Campaign at Dataran Tanjung Emas, Fahmi emphasized the importance of flying the national flag as a symbol of unity, pride, and shared identity.

The event was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and attended by other key figures including Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, Johor MB Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Chief Secretary Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, and Information Department DG Julina Johan.

Fahmi, who also chairs the main committee for this year’s celebrations, highlighted that National Month is not just symbolic but represents a collective responsibility to foster patriotism and national pride. He encouraged Malaysians to proudly fly the Jalur Gemilang at homes, schools, offices, vehicles, and business premises.

He further reminded the public of the importance of understanding the true value of independence, recognising past sacrifices, and continuing to uphold unity through the nation’s founding principles and Federal Constitution — the cornerstone of Malaysia’s peace and stability for over six decades.
