AirAsia and Malaysian Armed Forces Join Hands in RM99.5mil Deal to Serve the Nation

LANGKAWI: In a heartfelt move that strengthens ties between public service and the skies, AirAsia has officially signed a charter service agreement worth RM99.5 million with the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). This collaboration isn’t just about planes and schedules—it’s about people, commitment, and a shared sense of duty to the nation.

Announced at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2025 exhibition, the deal runs until August 1, 2027, and includes daily chartered flights and exclusive aircraft arrangements across domestic routes. It’s a major step in ensuring the brave men and women of the armed forces can travel efficiently, safely, and with the dignity they deserve.

Every weekday, MAF personnel will be able to hop on board regular AirAsia commercial flights for both duty and welfare-related travel—integrated seamlessly into the airline’s existing high-frequency network. For special missions or movements, AirAsia will dedicate entire aircraft exclusively for MAF use, offering a private and respectful experience without any commercial passengers onboard.

Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia, expressed deep pride in this partnership. “As the people’s airline, we are honoured to support those who protect our country. This isn’t just a contract—it’s a commitment to serve our heroes with the same dedication they show to Malaysia every day.”

The agreement also includes thoughtful touches that go beyond just transport. From in-flight meals to careful luggage handling, and even door-to-door logistics between airports and military camps, everything is designed with the comfort, convenience, and well-being of MAF personnel in mind.

With this move, AirAsia shows that flying isn’t just about getting from point A to point B—it’s about people, purpose, and partnership.
